Indiana women’s soccer was shut out for the ninth time this season and was trounced by Minnesota:Indiana women’s soccer has not had a good season, and their 3-0 loss against Minnesota at Robbie Stadium in Minneapolis on Sunday only made matters worse.

But against Minnesota, the Hoosiers went in the opposite direction, stuttering from the opening to the last whistle. With two goals in the first five minutes and a goal from senior forward Khyah Harper in the twelfth, Minnesota surged ahead of the Hoosiers early.
Jamie Gerstenberg, the senior goalie for Indiana, had little chance to stop Harper’s shot when he found space at the edge of the penalty box and hit it to the top of the net, precisely bouncing off the crossbar. Harper finished the game with seven shots, one goal, and one assist,
With only one shot on goal and eight total shots, the Hoosiers’ offense was unable to keep up with the Golden Gophers’. Indiana’s offensive woes have persisted throughout the season; since September 26, the Hoosiers have yet to score a goal.
As is their custom, the Hoosiers got off to a poor start on Sunday. In the first half, they only managed one shot, which was blocked by a diving save by sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Martin and taken by senior defender Camille Hamm.

A penalty kick was added to the victory in the 83rd minute by Minnesota graduate student midfielder Sophia Boman after Indiana junior defender Olivia Albert was fouled in the box.The Hoosiers’ attack was shut out once more, which was their ninth goalless game in a ten-game run and their sixth in a row.
At 2:05 p.m. on October 27, Indiana will play Nebraska to end the regular season at Hibner Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska. Prior to moving on to 2025, the Hoosiers will try to secure a second conference victory.
